Richmond is easily accessible by air, land and rail. The Richmond International Airport is about nine miles east of the city, off Interstate 64. Amtrak trains also service the area, and there is easy access by car as Richmond is located at the junction of I-95 and I-64. It's about 110 miles south of Washington D.C. Take I-64 east 50 miles to historic Williamsburg, and drive another 60 miles to reach Virginia Beach. Head west 70 miles on I-64 to reach Charlottesville, site of Thomas Jefferson's mountaintop home, Monticello, and the University of Virginia.
