Welcome to Lodgingwithall

Burlington is one of the top tourist destinations of Vermont. It is a city full of history and at the same time enjoys a modern cosmopolitan atmosphere. The old town has some of the finest historical architecture, in contrast with the gleaming modern structures in the new town.

You can get there by flying on a Vermont Airline which offer budget flights daily to a nearby airport. Alternatively you can take a train or Greyhound bus from a number of other destinations.

You can stay in one of Burlington's many elegant resort hotels, or for the budget traveler, the city offers a number of inns and motels. If you are staying longer, you might consider renting a holiday condo or apartment.

When you are in Burlington you can simply enjoy the sun, or there are a number of other opportunities for sightseeing - a visit to the city's museums and galleries is always worthwhile. Alternatively you could explore the narrow streets of the old town on foot, shopping for souvenirs in the many charming designer boutiques. On Sundays the central park is always full of young people who meet for picnics under the shady trees. For the more active, there are opportunities to play golf or tennis. Those who enjoy water-sports can go fishing or swimming. You will probably want to hire a yacht or motor cruiser for the day to reach the best locations.

Getting around Burlington couldn't be more easy. The city is well served by taxicabs and a modern bus network. If you want to venture further afield you might hire a car and take of to see the sleepy villages in the Vermont countryside, or drive to the coast to while away the afternoon in one of the many secluded areas along the coastline.

Burlington comes to life in the evening. The city has dozens of excellent bistros, delis, and restaurants, and there are many lively bars and clubs to while away the night into the early hours of the morning.

Whatever your interest, Burlington, Vermont, has something unique to offer.

Resolved Question: Is there nice slopeside lodging at Killington?

We only do one ski trip each year to Vermont and like to stay at a nice, convenient slopeside place. Last year we stayed at the Stowe Mountain Lodge, which was our kind of place. This year we are thinking of Killington or Okemo. We found slopeside lodging at Okemo, but couldn't find anything for Killington. We have never been to Killington - does it have newer slopeside lodging? Thanks.

Resolved Question: Cheap lodgin near ski mountains?

A few times when I was younger I stayed at a few cheap lodgings near big mountains in Vermont and New Hampshire. The upstairs were several large rooms with bunks in them, and the down stairs were dining and arcade areas. They also usually came with dinner and or breakfast. What are these things called? Ski lodges? Ski hostels? I've tried to find some online, but have been unable to. Thanks

Resolved Question: Going to Vermont with my 9 month old... what to do?

My husband and I are visiting friends this weekend in Vermont. We will be staying at a hotel close to a ski lodge and I'm wondering if anyone's been in my situation with a small child.... Any advice for me? We were thinking of taking turns watching her in the lodge while the other hits the slopes for a bit. Does anyone know if there are things to do with a baby at such a wintery location? or is she too young?

Resolved Question: Does anyone know of a lodge similar to the one in the film White Christmas (1954)?

I'm looking for a lodge in which to have a winter wedding. My wedding is having a vintage theme like 1920's or 1950's, very classy. Does anyone know of a lodge in Vermont or somewhere else in the New England area that is similar to the one from the 1954 movie White Christmas. I know that it was not filmed at a real lodge but I love the rustic elegance and charm that was displayed in the movie. I'm actually looking for somewhere kind of off the beaten path, maybe a place that has been family owned for several generations. Any help would be wonderful and greatly appreciated! Thank you all!

Resolved Question: Planning a trip to Killington. Where's a great place to lodge?

A couple of friends, myself included, are planning a ski trip january3-8 (midweek special) to Killington, Vermont. What's a great place to lodge, we have a car, but I am familiar with dragging skis (bunch of women in the party, and some lazy men =p), and would prefer to stay mountain side something along the lines of ski-home condos. Price is also important because we're college students. We would also like to stay close to the main area, so that we could go out for walks at night. Any relevant suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.

Resolved Question: What is the best ski resort in Vermont?

I've done a ton of research and came up with Stratton, Killington, Okemo, and Mount Snow. They're the closest to NYC (about 4-5 hrs) and are on the lower price range (600-800$ 5nights lift/lodge/equipment) Which one do you think is the best of the 4 taking into consideration that Killington has a huge ski city but also bigger crowds with the same number of lifts as okemo and the others.

Resolved Question: Winter lodge in the Northeast?

I live in Boston and I would like to get out of the city in December to a mountain lodge or a cottage for a week. Areas I am interested in are New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont. I am looking for something secluded and quiet. I don't need shopping and I don't need a lot of people either. I'm not looking to ski, just to be a hermit for a week, relax with a good book by a fireplace. A nearby car rental or bus accessibility is important too.

Voting Question: Wedding in Vermont/Trapp Family Lodge?

Since I was a little girl I have wanted to get married at The Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. I think I have finally talked my fiance into it so now I am starting to get some ideas. We are planning on only having 25 or so people join us and then have a large reception when we get home. I've been thinking about what to put in the welcome bags. I know I want to include "The Sound of Music" dvd and some waters and snacks but what else could I put in the bags? I want some genuine Vermont type of stuff. Thanks for the help.

Resolved Question: Any pet friendly ski resorts or rentals in NY or VT?

I'm looking to stay in a 1-bedroom hotel/condo/rental, possibly slopeside in Vermont, New York, or New Hampshire. Are there any that offer pet friendly lodging?

Resolved Question: Where should I take my mom for a weekend winter trip to celebrate her 50th birthday?

I've been saving to be able to take her somewhere nice that she would enjoy for her 50th birthday. She does so much for me, and I know she would just love the surprise of a weekend winter getaway. We live in Baltimore, Maryland, and somewhere that we could get to by train would be nice. It would be during the first weekend of February, 2010. She would love to stay at a lodge somewhere in the mountains, maybe. She also really loves New England...so maybe Connecticut or Vermont. I would like to keep the trip under $1,500. Thank you so much! All help and suggestions are appreciated!
