Voting Question: I have small claims case on former roommate. She's counter claiming for Article 11 Sanctions? What is that?

This is long, but please read. I need help with this!!! Much appreciated if you read and respond! My former roommate only paid 2 months of rent when we signed together a lease agreement to rent this house for 1 year. The fourth month into it she stopped paying rent and utilities. I've paid the security deposit in full (she did not pay), the first month rent to move in (she did not pay,), and 2 other months she did not pay. She only paid for May and June. We moved in the month of April. The landlord threatened eviction, but I was allowed to stay because I was paying my share of the lease every time. We had an agreement she pay half of rent and half of utilities I put in a separate contract we both signed. She was forced to leave voluntarily to avoid us eviction granted I was able to stay living on premises and not her. I'm taking her to court for collection of the months she did not pay as agreed and it's on 3/19. I have all the proof to prove the case. She sent me a letter that I received yesterday stating if I do not drop the case today, she is counter claiming a law suit against me for Article 11 Sanctions that could potentially cause criminal prosecution against me. She's also suing me for lost wages attempting to collect two round trips up to the court for our trial date, employer lost wages that day, hotel lodging fees, her money she spent on her certified letters to me, and court fees. She said her counter claim suit will cause delay in our set trial date on 3/19. She has not processed this yet, but I thought you cannot change trial dates? She just cannot make up trial dates scheduled and change them right? Court house does right? Well, I went through channels of the court house yesterday and spoke to a state attorney. He said after he did digging, Article 11 Sanctions means someone acting in bad faith by making untrue court proceedings on someone, that is what she is suing me for. Is this right? He also said this does not at all include criminal prosecution. It would be just a fine if I was found guilty and more than likely it would not pass the judge in her favor. If it helps, I live in state of Maryland. I would not bother with this trial and waste the courts time if I did not have the proof!

Resolved Question: Wedding with a mountain view by the Appalachians?

My fiance and I want to get married outside in front of a really good mountain view, and we were thinking of camping for most of the time, and probably just rent out a conference room at some lodge or resort maybe. We live by the Appalachian Mountains and we want to find a place there, plus a place between Ohio and Maryland, like a halfway point since our families are scattered all over the place. Does anyone know a good place like this? It has to be somewhere directly between Maryland and Ohio... I don't want to make it a burden for our family members to go too far down south or north.

Resolved Question: Road trip to America! Tips?

At the end of this year or the next, my friend and I want to travel across the US for a heck of a road trip. We haven't planned out a route, but for sure we'll be hitting NY, Chicago IL and Malibu CA. A few friends want me to visit them as well, most of them are from Boston, and one from Maryland. So here come the list of questions: 1) If time were not an issue, what is the cheapest way for one to travel across states? Is a rented car allowed to travel across states? I have a Singaporean Driver's license, does that let me drive cars in America? 2) What the heck is there to do in Boston and Maryland??? 3) I'm 18, and my friend is 20. Drinking isn't allowed till you're 21 in the US right? Can we still go to clubs? 4) Can anyone recommend a good place for skiing in any of the states? We're probably leaving in Nov/Dec. Which I assume would be winter in the states? 5) Does anyone have any tips for a road trip of this scale? I am a pretty frequent flier, but my friend hasn't traveled anywhere outside of Asia in his entire life! Also, we're on a pretty damn low budget, so assuming that lodging would be free, how much should I put aside for this trip? * Also, if this has to do with anything, we're both Chinese but speak English very fluently.

Resolved Question: Where should I take my mom for a weekend winter trip to celebrate her 50th birthday?

I've been saving to be able to take her somewhere nice that she would enjoy for her 50th birthday. She does so much for me, and I know she would just love the surprise of a weekend winter getaway. We live in Baltimore, Maryland, and somewhere that we could get to by train would be nice. It would be during the first weekend of February, 2010. She would love to stay at a lodge somewhere in the mountains, maybe. She also really loves New England...so maybe Connecticut or Vermont. I would like to keep the trip under $1,500. Thank you so much! All help and suggestions are appreciated!

Resolved Question: Was America founded as a Christian Nation?

27% of those who signed the Declaration of Independence were masons which is NOT Christian. 70% of those who signed the Constitution of The United States were masons. http://www.rapidnet.com/~jbeard/bdm/Psychology/mashist.htm How much influence does one politician have today? When compared to 200 years ago it must be similar. If that influence were used purely for evil, how could it be stopped, since the whole of America is DEMOCRATIC. We have no direct control over the functions of Congress or the Senate and they frequently make decisions and pass laws without our consent. MASONIC INFLUENCES IN EARLY AMERICAN HISTORY - Lafayette, French liaison to the Colonies, without whose aid the war could not have been won, was a Freemason. - The majority of the commanders of the Continental Army were Freemasons and members of "Army Lodges." - Most of Washington's Generals were Freemasons. - The Boston Tea Party was planned at the Green Dragon Tavern, also known as the "Freemasons' Arms," and "the Headquarters of the Revolution." - George Washington was sworn in as the first President of the United States by Robert Livingston, Grand Master of New York's Masonic Lodge. The Bible on which he took his oath was from his own Masonic lodge. - The Cornerstone of the Capital building was laid by the Grand Lodge of Maryland. Even if the initiators of the Revolution had been Christians, the fact remains that the Revolutionary War and the nation's government were structured by the tenets of Freemasonry, not God's Word. It was an unholy alliance at best. hmm. to the one who quoted the masons about not being religious or a substitute for one...a friend of mine, several years ago had a part of a series of questions asked of Masons during some part of initiation i guess where they talked about going to Mecca, like the Muslims or Shriners...it was described as a spiritual journey...anyone know more about this...it was several years ago and I don't know any more details

Resolved Question: Where to Ski/rent a Lodge on the East Coast?!?!?

So I'm a poor college student and me and 5 friends are looking to rent out a cabin and spend 3 days skiing and having fun sometime between December 15th and January 15th. Anyone have any recommendations? We're all located in Virginia, Maryland, or Pennsylvania, and we'd like someplace on the east coast that we could road trip up to. At the moment we've mainly been looking at the Pocono Mountains. Also, it'd have to be somewhat reasonably priced. The cabin would preferably need to house 6 people, but 3-4 is fine as well (we'll just rent out two). Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Resolved Question: What hotels for a 7 year old is similar to Great wolf?

My 7 year old daughter's birthday is on July 4. (She's an Independence Baby!) And we were planning to have it in Great Wolf Lodge, but they're booked for the whole week. So if people would give us any suggestions on similar hotels compared to Great Wolf, it would be greatly appreciated. P.S. It would also help if the hotel was located somewhere near Maryland.
